Listed below are a few of the top sightseeing spots and activities around Hoedspruit town.  We are here to point you in the right direction, rent you a vehicle or if you don’t feel comfortable behind a steering wheel take you there!

PANARAMA ROUTE

The Panorama Route explores the north-eastern section of the Great Escarpment of the Drakenburg.  In the rugged mountains the plateau comes to a dramatic halt, plummeting steeply into the Lowveld accompanied by astonishing views which one could view from various spots.

The most beautiful stretch of the route is the R532 that winds its way from the town of Sabie via a selection of graceful waterfalls (Sabie Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Mac Mac Falls) to Gods Window, the Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the three Rondawals.

BLYDE RIVER CANYON

Take a relaxing and informative boat cruise on the Blyde Dam.  The cruise lasts 1h 30min and gives you the chance to see the beautiful water fall and some of the wildlife which inhabit the dam and its surroundings.

MARIEPSKOP

Mariepskop, at 1947m above sea level is one of the highest peaks in the northern Drakensberg and the highest point of the Blyde River Canon.  This view is guaranteed to amaze you. A short trip down through the forest you will reach a picnic site with braai facility’s and a natural pool for a chance to cool off. You will need a 4X4 to access some of the roads.

HOT AIR BALLOON

Experience the beauty of the Lowveld from a birds eye view.  Sun Catchers offer one hour long flights over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River. The terrain is a mixture of farmland and private nature reserves at the foot of the Drakensburg Escarpment.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
